Chogoria Gate→Lake Ellis Campsite
11 km+700 m3–4 hrsSleep: 3,600 mEnter at Chogoria Gate (2,900 m) and trek through montane forest into moorland. Lake Ellis Campsite (3,600 m) offers the first views of the main peaks.

Lake Ellis Campsite→Mintos Camp
8 km+745 m6–7 hrsSleep: 4,200 mClimb into Gorges Valley above Lake Michaelson. Mintos Camp (4,200 m) sits in one of the most dramatic amphitheatres on the mountain.

Mintos Camp→Austrian Hut
7 km+500 m4–5 hrsSleep: 4,700 mTraverse Hall Tarns and ascend steeply to Austrian Hut (4,700 m). Superb views of Batian and Nelion from the hut. Prepare gear for the summit push.

Austrian Hut→Point Lenana → Austrian Hut
2 km+195 m-195 m2–3 hrsSleep: 4,700 mPre-dawn start (03:00) for the summit. The 0.9 km scramble from Austrian Hut to Point Lenana (4,985 m) is the shortest summit morning on the mountain. Return to Austrian Hut after sunrise photos.

11 km-1740 m6–7 hrsSleep: 3,050 mDescend west via the Naro Moru corridor through Mackinder's Valley and across the vertical bog to the Meteorological Station (3,050 m).

Met Station→Naro Moru Gate
9 km-400 m3–4 hrsFinal descent through bamboo and rainforest to Naro Moru Gate (2,650 m). Transfer to Nanyuki or Nairobi.
